BRIDAL FASHION TRENDS FOR 2023

Spring is a prevalent season for weddings which is why brides everywhere are grateful that we know what designers are prognosticating to be the trends of the season and all of 2023. Beginning with bridal attire and concluding with accessories here are the top bridal fashion trends this year.

PASTEL COLORS

To begin with, this bridal fashion week we saw many colorful dresses. The colors of the season are powder blue, pastel pink, and lavender. Bridal fashion houses like Amsale and Nadia Manjarrez Studios incorporated this trend in their designs. Some had it only in the train for a pop of color and others had it in the veil and gloves. It’s definitely a more modern approach to bridal attire as brides move away from tradition this season. The powder blue is ethereal when it plays off the florals in a ceremony or in garden photos.

SHEER FABRICS

Galia Lahav presented dresses with sheer fabrics and transparency all throughout their show. The peekaboo look that this creates is both sophisticated and sexy. Some of the fabrics were embroidered with beads and gems creating the illusion of see-through print. The beadless all-white dresses adorned with transparency looked delicate and like frosting.

ASYMMETRICAL NECKLINES AND MOCK NECKS

The runway was replete with highs and lows. Ramona Kerveza along with Theia both used mock necks and asymmetrical necklines that keep the eye interested. This is great for breaking up the look and interrupting a monotonous flow of fabric. Mock necks provide that high neck look (which adds inches of height) without the limitations of a full neck.

GLOVES

This trend was first seen in Vera Wang’s Bridal Spring 2023. The gloves add a certain royal-like vibe without looking fully victorian or traditional. We did see them paired with some puffy sleeves for a full vintage look. Gloves also make it easy to change looks for brides that have some outfit changes. Take off the gloves and that can be a reception look, the guests would not be the wiser.
